Terms of Use
Last updated 20 August 2026
RepoBar is a free, open-source macOS application published by Great Pixels. By downloading, installing or using it, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
The software is provided “as is”
RepoBar is licensed under the MIT License. As that licence states, the software is provided without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to the warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
No liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the author and Great Pixels are not liable for any claim, damage or other liability arising from the software or its use. This includes, without limitation:
- loss of data, source code, commits or work in progress;
- a check that reports the wrong thing — a repository shown as up to date when it is not, or the reverse;
- the result of any git fetch or fast-forward merge the app performs at your request;
- downtime, missed changes, or decisions made on the basis of what the app displayed;
- anything that happens after you allow an unsigned application to run on your Mac.
You use RepoBar at your own risk. Keep backups and keep your own copy of anything you care about.
What you are responsible for
- The repositories you add, and the credentials, SSH keys and credential helpers the app uses on your behalf — RepoBar reuses your existing git configuration and never stores credentials of its own.
- Deciding whether to allow an application that Apple has not notarized to run on your Mac, and following the steps to do so.
- Complying with the terms of the git hosts you connect to.
Not notarized
RepoBar is signed but not notarized by Apple, because notarization runs through an Apple Developer Program membership, which this project does not have. macOS will therefore warn you the first time you open it, and you have to allow it explicitly. That decision is yours; the instructions on the home page describe it, they do not make it safe or unsafe. If you would rather not trust a binary, the complete source is published and you can build it yourself.
No affiliation
RepoBar is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Apple Inc., GitHub, Inc., GitLab B.V., Atlassian Corporation or any other company whose services it can connect to. All trademarks belong to their respective owners; macOS is a trademark of Apple Inc.
Third-party links and services
This site links to GitHub for downloads, source code and issues. Those services have their own terms and privacy policies, and we are not responsible for their content or availability.
No support commitment
RepoBar is maintained as time allows. Nothing here promises support, bug fixes, updates or continued availability. Issues and pull requests are welcome on GitHub, and may be answered or not.
Changes
These terms may change; the date at the top always says when they last did. Continuing to use the app after a change means you accept the current version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye. If any provision is found unenforceable, the rest stays in force.
